Get to know Imperial Cinema

Imperial Cinema is a fully-fledged independent cinema, run by students, located in the Union Building. During term time, we show recent releases twice a week. We also run special events for other clubs and of course there's our legendary All-Nighters, where we show films back to back for 12 hours. The cinema sports state of the art digital projection and Dolby surround sound as well as an old school 35mm projector. We can even show 3D films! You can be as involved as you like, from selling sweets and tickets to contacting film distributors to tweaking the tech. For the activity this Wednesday we’re taking you on a short tour around our projection booth. You can learn the many tricks behind the scenes of a working cinema including how to work with 35mm film projection.
