Hi, I’m Christian, your Deputy President (Clubs & Societies) this year!
My role involves supporting the development of Clubs, Societies and Projects (CSPs) and ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to create a fun, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all students! I also work a lot with the Deputy President (Finance & Services) to assist with CSP budgeting and finance.
A Bit About Me
I grew up and lived in Newcastle until I turned 18, when moved to London to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial. Whilst at school I took part in as many activities as possible, including playing for the school hockey team, working behind the scenes in the school theatre and playing piano in concerts, shows and events.
Throughout my time here at Imperial I have stood as a student representative in the roles of Sports Treasurer and Sports Chair which has given me an insight into many of the issues faced by CSPs which I hope to solve this year. I’m also proud to have organised all of the ACC Sports Night events over the past two years as part of this role!
Outside of academics and volunteering I'm a keen hockey player, having played for Imperial College Hockey Club for a number of years, and in my spare time I love to play piano to relax.
Ultimately, my goal this year is to implement changes that will make student activities easier to participate in and easier to run. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by the links below!
Improve training & support for CSP members.
Reduce financial, social and cultural barriers to participating in extracurricular activity.
Increase transparency between the Union and CSPs.
Review the support networks available for all CSP members.
Encourage the development of wider communities of students who share interests across London.
