    Looking for a hands-on, flexible job alongside your studies? We’re hiring Kitchen Assistants at Imperial College Union!

    You’ll be working closely with our Catering Operations Manager and Sous Chefs to deliver high‑quality food across our Union venues. From food prep and keeping the kitchen running smoothly, to supporting service and maintaining top hygiene standards, you’ll be a key part of a busy, friendly catering team.

    This is a great opportunity to build kitchen experience in a supportive environment right in the heart of campus, with flexible shifts across the week, including evenings and weekends.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Supporting the catering team to deliver high standards of food and service
    • Assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and safe storage of ingredients and equipment
    • Helping minimise waste and manage stock and deliveries
    • Working on the till when required
    • Following Health & Safety and Food Safety standards at all times
    • Being flexible and working as part of a team to cover 7‑day operations

    You’ll also take part in training and team meetings, and help out with other duties as needed.

    Looking for a varied, people‑focused role? We’re recruiting a Building Coordinator for the Beit Building at Imperial College Union.

    You’ll be co‑ordinating the day‑to‑day operation of one of the Union’s busiest buildings, making sure all spaces are safe, welcoming and ready for use by students, staff and external clients. From leading the Welcome Desk team and managing bookings, to overseeing access, room setups and building checks, you’ll play a central role in keeping everything running smoothly.

    Working closely with Duty Managers and the Head of Commercial, you’ll help ensure the Beit Building functions as a vibrant hub for student activity and commercial events, delivering a great experience for everyone who uses the space.

    This is a permanent role, based on a 35‑hour working week, scheduled across any 5 days out of 7. Shifts will include some evenings and weekends, arranged through a departmental rota.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Coordinating daily building operations and acting as the first point of contact via the Welcome Desk
    • Leading and supporting a team of 15–20 student Welcome Desk Assistants
    • Managing room bookings, access systems and building security processes
    • Liaising with student groups and external clients to plan bookings, setups and logistics
    • Ensuring spaces are prepared, maintained and returned to standard after use
    • Carrying out building checks and reporting defects, hazards and maintenance issues
    • Supporting health and safety compliance across the building
    • Delivering excellent customer service and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment
