Activities Development Fund

The Activities Development Fund (ADF) is a large pot of money set aside at the start of the year for Clubs, Societies & Projects to apply to throughout the year to support any new or developing activities they may be trying to achieve and that could not have budgeted for during Annual Budgeting.

Historically, ADF has also processed applications for CSPs applying for contingency funding and unexpected expenditure. These competencies are now being moved to a staff-managed process to allow for long-term financial planning and support. CSPs with such applications should still apply to through the ADF process. If the issue is deemed more appropriate for long-term support, the CSP will be notified of the issue by ICU and a meeting will be arranged.

All applications are reviewed by the Activities Development Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Clubs, Societies & Projects Board (CSPB).

Criteria & Guidelines

The Fund is to support Clubs, Societies & Projects with the following:

  • What the ADF will not consider for funding
    • Food and Drink
    • Trips or Tours
    • Project funding for overseas Volunteering/project groups
    • No air travel
    • The committee is unable to give money to charities or towards events where proceeds are then given to charity.
    • The committee will not fund clothing, stash or personalised leisurewear.
    • Prizes or gifts
