I’m Niamh, your Deputy President (Finance & Services). I was elected by the student body to represent you by ensuring our services, like our bars and shops, remain student focused.
A big part of my manifesto was improving our focus on postgraduate students, as the experience of previous postgrads with the Union has been…subpar, to say the least. This year, we are committed to changing that. We want our postgrads to have the same sense of community and belonging in our Union as undergrads. You do make up half the Imperial population after all!
Things are kicking off Friday 30th September with Postgrad Night. Expect a full Beit takeover in all 3 of our venues; the cheapest drinks in South Ken; and a special throwback headliner for you all.
Alongside this, we have tons of postgrad specific events of you all, including Postgrad Mingles on Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October; Postgrad Pies; Postgrad Prosecco; Postgrad Pilates (can you tell we enjoyed the alliteration?); and the return of h-bar quiz nights.
