Your Officer Team

ICU is led by your Officer Trustees (OTs), who are Imperial students that have been democratically elected by the Imperial cohort in our annual Leadership Elections. OTs take a year out of their studies and work full-time for the union, all to make your Imperial student experience even better.

Union President

Camille (she/her)

Hello! This is Camille, your Union President.

I joined Imperial in Oct 2019 as an aeronautics undergraduate. My favourite part of being a student was my time in clubs & societies. I was a keen netballer, rugby lass and snowsports gal, which meant my Wednesdays often revolved around Harlington and the union. In my third year, I became President of the netball club and in my final year I organised the snowsports trip to Tignes for a couple hundred people keen on the slopes.

A bit more about me.

As you might have guessed from my name, I’m French by background but actually grew up in London, south of the river to be precise.

My hobbies include not knowing how to dance but doing so anyway, getting competitive (mainly through sports) and spending time with the people I love. The most fun fact about me is that, in a past life, I was a Wimbledon ball girl, so I’ve touched more famous tennis player sweat than I like to recall.

Why Imperial?

My favourite thing about Imperial is the people it attracts. That’s not to say that everyone is everyone’s cup of tea…but I truly believe I found my people and I love being surrounded by driven and stimulated individuals.

My 2024/25 goals:

  • Lobby to increase the London allowance for PGR students
  • Create more IDX module opportunities
  • Increase the amount of green and study spaces on campuses

Deputy President (Education)

Emina (she/her)

Hi hi! I'm Emina and I am thrilled to be your Deputy President of Education this year.

I started at Imperial as a Biological Sciences student, spending some time planning events and running the BioSoc committee before joining the Bioengineering Dept as a masters student and Rep.

Head shot of Emina in Beit Quad. She is smiling and wearing a black dress.

A bit more about me.

One of my favourite party tricks is seeing the surprise on people's faces when I eventually tell them I'm Romanian!

It's not the most obvious answer since my accent is all over the place from moving around so much.

I am a big fan of anything West End, from musicals to plays, ballet and opera (really maxing out what's left of my Young ROH). That being said, I love being active in CSPs and hope to continue to do so in the coming year (I am looking at you, archery) and will probably see a couple of you at Ethos!

Why Imperial?

The highlight of my time at Imperial has been being part of such a diverse student community and being able to make friends from all corners of the world.

My 2024/25 goals:

  • Review and tailor assessment feedback practices.
  • Standardise mitigating circumstances across different departments.
  • Organise Alumni networking opportunities early on in student’s degrees with a focus on exposure to unconventional career paths.
  • Increase communication with the Representation Network.

Deputy President (Clubs & Societies)

Christian (he/him)

Hi, I’m Christian, your Deputy President (Clubs & Societies) this year!

My role involves supporting and representing all the Clubs, Societies and Projects (CSPs) at Imperial College, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to create a fun, rewarding, and inclusive environment for all students!

Before becoming DPCS in 2023, I represented sports clubs as the Sports Chair and Sports Treasurer for two years, responsible for representing the interests of our sports clubs as well as organising the infamous ACC sports nights!

Head shot of Christian standing in Beit Quad. He is smiling with his arms folded and wearing a white t-shirt.

A bit more about me.

I grew up in Newcastle and moved to London at 18 to study at Imperial, though sadly I’ve lost the Geordie accent!

Since moving here I’ve played hockey for Imperial College Hockey Club – one of the reasons I initially became involved with the union.

In my spare time, I love to run and I relax by playing the piano, which I have done since the age of seven!

Why Imperial?

My favourite thing about Imperial is how diverse the student community is, and how much there is to get involved in, from playing sports to performing in a musical, there’s something for everyone!

My 2024/25 goals:

  • Develop the CSP Sustainability Framework to ensure that all CSPs can strive towards sustainability and be rewarded for doing so.
  • Expand the Student Experience Fund to ensure that as many students as possible can access it.
  • Improve committee support and the volunteering experience through improved training, response times, and support.
  • Review and improve funding opportunities and the annual budgeting process for all CSPs.

Deputy President (Finance & Services)

Stephanie (she/her)

Hi! I’m Stephanie, your Deputy President (Finance & Services) for another year!

During my time as a student at Imperial, I did Biomedical Engineering! Outside of my studies, I was also the Ethics and Environment Officer for our Liberation & Community Networks, as well as the Management Group Chair for recreation Clubs, Societies and Projects (CSPS).

As DPFS, I am here to deliver the best services with our students and for our students, including our bars, shops, and events. I also work alongside Christian to oversee the finances of our CSPs. Beyond the "finance" and "services" aspects of my role, sustainability is another key focus for me.

I started as your DPFS one year ago because I wanted to make a positive impact on a larger and wider scale, and I have had an absolute blast in the past 12 months speaking and working with all of you and I look forward to another year to continue embedding the changes I’ve made for longer lasting impact!

Head shot of Stephanie in Beit Quad. She is smiling and wearing a navy blue t shirt.

A bit more about me.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and am a trilingual in English, Cantonese & Mandarin!

I enjoy a good game of Mahjong, a tasty cup of bubble tea, and long, nice naps with my plushies! I also like cooking and baking, so if you have any recipes to share, please do :)

Why Imperial?

My favourite thing about Imperial are the people and friends I have gotten to know, but I also enjoy a mean pint of extra-sweet blackcurrant soda from our bars!

My 2024/25 goals:

Building upon some of my work over the past year, my goals in the year ahead include:

  • Sustainability: Delivering the Union Sustainability Strategy
  • Community: Working with students to deliver safe & inclusive events for all students, with a focus on a non-drinking centric culture, inclusion of our postgraduate students, and a celebration of our diverse cultural communities
  • Accessibility: Ensuring accessible prices across all our services at the union (bars, events, shops etc.)

Deputy President (Welfare)

Nico (he/him)

Hi I'm Nico, and I’m your Deputy President for Welfare this year recently graduating in Theoretical Physics.

I was involved with the union through sessions at the DJ & Production Society, while I was balancing my studies and a part-time job.

Head shot of Nico in Beit Quad. He is wearing a blue and purple shirt and smiling.

A bit more about me.

I’m half Argentinian and half British, and I permanently moved to the UK at the age of 16 to attend school and work on my English.

When I'm not working, you can find me at home trying to teach English to my two cats, making music on my native instrument, the ronroco, learning new recipes, or exploring random interests. My special interest for the past year or so has been hydroponics and future food systems.

Why Imperial?

My favourite thing about Imperial is the diversity. I love the multicultural environment that enables the collaboration of brilliant minds from all across the globe.

My 2024/25 goals:

  • Continue working on fostering a welcoming environment, facilitate more recreational spaces, and enhance communication between students and the union.
  • Implement the mental health strategy, continuing the work done by my predecessor and the Mental Health Officer.
  • Develop a platform to redistribute surplus food across campus, addressing both the cost of living crisis and food waste.
  • Expand mentorship programs connecting underrepresented students with alumni.
  • Host more inclusive activities with societies, making it easier for students to meet people and participate in union-hosted events.
  • Be an accessible and supportive representative, keeping my ears open to student feedback and new initiatives.

ICSMSU President

Lilia (she/her)

Hi, I’m Lilia, your ICSMSU President this year!

My role involves supporting and representing all the students in the School of Medicine at Imperial College. Along with 22 other amazing student officers, we make up your ICSMSU!

From organising Academic & Welfare support to wonderful events like Freshers’ Fortnight, or supporting ICSMSU’s clubs and societies, we are here to represent our students in every capacity.

Before becoming ICSMSU President, I worked in the ICSMSU Welfare Stream as Chair and Vice Chair for Wellbeing Representatives Treasurer for two years, responsible for supporting and signposting students to welfare support and advocating for curriculum changes to support your welfare!

Headshot of Lilia in Beit Quad. She is wearing a white shirt and has her brown hair out.

A bit more about me.

Before joining Imperial to study medicine, I lived in Surrey! A fun fact I am half Welsh & half Algerian-French.

Outside of ICSMSU, you can often find me on stage with ICSM Light Opera or getting involved with all the wonderful clubs ICSM has to offer!

Why Imperial?

My favourite thing about Imperial is the wonderful community we have at ICSM which is filled with the most amazing and diverse people! There are always plenty of opportunities to meet students from different year groups and backgrounds and make memories that will last a lifetime.

My 2024/25 goals:

  • Uphold Student Representation by ensuring the student voice remains a central focus by encouraging student consultation and clear communication of feedback outcomes.
  • Expand Financial Accessibility through collaborating with Faculty and Alumni networks as no student should have to miss out on social or educational events due to financial barriers.
  • Introduce Robust EDI Initiatives such as an ICSMSU mentorship scheme and an ICSMSU EDI sub-committee to help amplify underrepresented voices in the community.
  • Build a supportive & competent ICSMSU by facilitating inter-officer learning and establishing core values emphasising the importance of inclusivity and student representation.
