The last twelve months have seen a profound change in Imperial College Union, Imperial College, and the world of Education. Still, the day-to-day impact I have had on students' learning experiences has kept me motivated, excited, and humbled to be your elected Deputy President (Education).
In this academic year, I have been working closely with the College to:
- Shape the Learning & Teaching Strategy’s 10-year programme to ensure Imperial is delivering an excellent educational experience and supportive environment for students

Complete a curriculum review for Postgraduate Taught programmes

Lobby for improving scientific communication support for all students, especially for non-native English speakers

Lobby for increased funding for Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programmes (UROP)

Maximise in-person teaching in term 2 as permitted by Government guidance

Make a quick and informed decision regarding exam arrangements beyond January

Address students' concerns from various departments regarding their worries about in-person exams and COVID exam risks

Lobby for an extended re-sit period in the same academic year for Postgraduate Taught students

Advise the library around a re-opening plan to increase building capacity

Secure a £500 hotel quarantine subsidy for each student returning to Imperial from red-listed counties in September 2021
- Analyse data for the 2021 National Students Survey (NSS) and present my recommendations to the College's Provost Board
I have also been working closely with Union staff and student representatives (reps) to:
- Organise Union Awards for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate student representation and staff teaching category

Assist with Summer Ball operations

Initiate and oversee the implementation of ICU's feedback board to improve the feedback process for reps and students

Oversee the annual budgeting of the Union as a Trustee

Expand remote teaching and exam provisions for disabled students to increase learning accessibility

Plan and organise a Christmas Buddy Scheme to help students stay connected over the holidays

Prepare training materials and co-deliver in-person and virtual rep training sessions

Emphasise student parity between international and home students

Assist reps in generating NSS departmental recommendations and monitor the implementation processes
