Come and listen to Professor Tom Welton, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, talking about his experience as an out LGBTQ+ individual in the scientific community, some results from the RSC/IOP/RAS report on being LGBTQ+ in the physical sciences, as well as some of the key challenges related to starting and developing a career as an academic.

A member of UKRI's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion External Advisory Group, Professor Welton has consistently advocated for greater diversity and inclusion in the wider scientific community throughout his career as a prominent researcher in sustainable chemistry.
