China Gold Medallist Martial Arts Seminar

We are very excited to finally announce an event brought to you by collaboration between two of London's most active Martial Art Societies; Imperial College Wushu Society and Imaginal Cell Movement Academy to produce the first ever training camp led by Master Chen De Qing, 5 Times Gold Medallist of the National Universitiy Championships in China. Training will begin on 1st March at Imperial College Union in South Kensington. Thie first session will focus on perfection of Wushu basics including kicking, stances and jumps. The second day will shift emphasis to learning unique combinations from Chen Deqing's medal-winning forms, including Changquan (Northern style), Daoshu (Broadsword) and Gunshu (Staff) as well as Chen-style Taiji. On the final day of the camp, students will move to IC Movement Academy in Hackney Wick. The emphasis here will be on Wushu jumps, including Teng Kong Fei Jiao (Jumping Front Kick). Xuan Feng Jiao 720 (Whirlwind kick 720 rotation), Ce Kong Fan (No handed-Cartwheel), Xuanzi (Butterfly), Xuanzi zhuanti (Butterfly Twist). A forms workshop will also be offered during this last 4 hour session, where advanced practitioners will have the opportunity to gain tips from Master Chen on their own forms. Students will also have the option of requesting Master Chen to make a general modern form for them. Movement Academy Students who attend all three days will get a signed certificate of attendance by Master Chen, 5th Duan Wushu Instructor and official member of the BCCMA, the official governing council for Chinese Martial Arts in the UK. Payment can be made directly to the staff of IC Movement Academy or the commitee of Imperial College Wushu Society. Practitioners of all levels, whether you're beginner or very advanced are encouraged to attend!
