The New Psychoactive Substances Bill aims to bring the ball back into the hands of the government and close the loophole surrounding newly synthesised legal highs, with drugs designed quicker than they can be prohibited. But, as the government seeks to form an 'exceptions list' amongst a wholesale ban on psychoactive substances, is this the right approach to take? How effectively are drug laws working in different countries? Who will be the winners and losers of the new Bill? At LFSP's latest roundtable, we seek to discuss these issues and more generally about drug laws in the UK. We are also about to start writing a paper on this issue, so if you find the discussion particularly interesting, there is the opportunity to join our team of authors. We hope that you find the discussion engaging and informative and look forward to seeing you soon!
