Imperial Atheists, Secularists and Humanists are hosting a week full of events for the start of the Autumn term, so if you're of a skeptical nature, make sure to mark out 12th - 16th October in your diaries. We'll be meeting at 18:10 every evening to hear a talk and Q&A on a load of different topics, followed by drinks and much intelligent conversation in the Union. Best of all, the events are all free! (although you should seriously buy our membership) This evening we're hearing from David Paterson. David is a practising Priest of the Church of England, and a co-founder of the Sea of Faith Network. He believes that gods do not exist except as human creations for which we (the human race) are responsible, and that religions can nevertheless be valuable sources of inspiration, just as art, music, literature and science can. He would like to find a way for humanity to work towards a secularism based on humanism, re-interpreting the treasures of religious traditions and spiritual experience.
