Cannabis: Harms and Hopes

Tuesday 29 October 2024 18:30 - 20:00
Huxley LT 130 (HXLY 130), South Kensington campus
Social & Recreational | Sensible Drug Policy

Cannabis has long sparked debate—demonized by some for its risks, yet admired by others for its potential benefits.

Join us for an illuminating talk with Dr. Will Lawn, a researcher and Psychology Lecturer from King’s College London, as we explore both sides of this complex substance. Dr Lawn's academic work is currently centred around the psychological and neural impacts of cannabis and treatments for adolescent cannabis use disorder.

Drawing on his extensive research, Dr. Lawn will provide a balanced look at cannabis, from the dangers it can pose to practical ways of reducing harm. His talk may also touch on the medicinal application of cannabinoids

Come with your curiosity and questions as we navigate the dual narrative of cannabis—its harms and hopes. Sign up to secure your spot!

The event will involve a 1 hour talk and 30 minute Q&A. It will take place in-person in Huxley Lecture Theatre 130 (HXLY 13) and online, via Microsoft Teams. The Microsoft Teams link will be sent to all those who sign up for online attendance 24 hours and 1 hour before the event. Do try to come along in person if you can, it's more fun that way :)
