Guest Lecture | Students for Global Health
All students welcome! We will be hearing from key note speakers including Sir Michael Marmot from UCL who will talk about his latest report on health inequalities during COVID-19 "Build Back Fairer", and expert panellists including Professor Robin Shattock from Imperial College London and in our panel discussions who will discuss lessons learnt about policy making during the pandemic and ways which we can build more resilient communities. You will also be able to join our virtual global health careers Q&A on Saturday lunchtime to hear from our guest panellists about their global health career journeys and have the chance to ask lots of questions. On Sunday lunchtime, join our in-person networking lunch and go around market stalls from our partner organisations. Across both days we will have an exciting programme of small group workshops and seminar talks covering topics ranging from: •science communications, fake news during the pandemic, and academic fraud; •how to design effective youth social action projects, improving health literacy amongst patients, and introductions to health coaching; •public health challenges in conflict zones, the global impact of COVID on mental health, and listening to local communities during the pandemic; •the role of science in policy making, access to medicines, and how we made a vaccine in 100 days.
