The Student Experience Fund (SEF) enables students to take part in activities and events at Imperial College Union which would otherwise be inaccessible due to cost. The fund is brand new for the 2023/24 academic year.
The Student Experience Fund is provided in collaboration with Imperial College, Imperial College Trust, and Imperial College Union.
Do I qualify?
All students on an Imperial Bursary with an annual household income of less than £60,000 automatically receive their SEF allowance and can make payments through the Union Shop.
As this is the first year of the fund we have decided to start with students on an Imperial Bursary, however, the future aim is that this fund will be able to support the experience of students from all backgrounds. As the fund is used and an understanding of its impact is gained this model will be reviewed.
As of October 2023, each eligible student will receive the funding outlined in the table below.
How much do I get?

Up to £16,000 | £65 |
