About the band: The Filthy Strings formed shortly before the 2013 IC battle of the bands, then called “Fuse Box”. The band were elected as the IC Jazz & Rock event managers in 2013 - 2014 and have become a regular feature at J&R events. They also featured at the Imperial Festival 2014 as “The fuel cell band” , where they became the first rock band in the world to have their instruments powered by a hydrogen fuel cell generator! Beyond forwarding science and music, they are also pioneering fret light guitars (see Spectrumaxe guitar on Youtube).

The band initially covered classic rock songs, but following the arrival of a new bassist in October 2014 they have be heading in new directions, and recently became the first J&R band to record in the new IC radio recording studio.
