About ProtoSoc
We are Imperial’s Prototyping & Hacking Society (ProtoSoc) — a home for makers, builders, and creatives who want to turn ideas into reality. Whether it’s designing something useful for everyday life, hacking a solution to a global challenge, or just building for fun, ProtoSoc is where imagination meets hands-on skills.
What We Do
- Regular Hackspace Workshops – hands-on skill sessions every 1–2 weeks.
- Hackspace Machine Induction Groups – get trained on equipment together.
- Guest Workshops by Industry Partners – learn directly from professionals.
- Student Projects – from our flagship RoboCup team to ProtoSoc-led builds and collaborations.
- Joint-Society Hackathons – team up across Imperial (and beyond) for large-scale challenges.
Highlights & Projects
- ⚽ RoboCup Team – ProtoSoc is leading Imperial’s entry into the international RoboCup robotics competition.
- 🤖 Student-Led Builds – prototype your own ideas or collaborate on society projects.
- 🌐 Cross-Society Collaborations – work with other Imperial societies on joint projects and events.
