COVID-19 Rep Guidance

Please utilise the below guidelines, we hope you are all managing well through these uncertain times.

  • We encourage you to liaise with your department to get updates about how teaching and assessment will be delivered until the end of the academic year. As well as exams set for this week or third term, please also consider any other assessments (e.g. vivas) that should've happened in Term 2
  • Please also take this information and liaise with students to get feedback and take this back to your department
  • Particularly wellbeing reps, please also remind students about support services (particularly external helplines that would provide a listening service during self-isolation). we'd also welcome suggestions about ways we can try and facilitate mitigating against loneliness and isolation for students during any periods of shutdown that may come in the near future.
  • If you are organising events as part of your role, there is no official guidance that would recommend cancelling these. We encourage you to make informed decisions for any events – consider the number of people attending, the value of the event, if it can be postponed without much effect, and if vulnerable people are meant to attend. For any event, please reiterate the message to attendees that they should be self-isolating if they are showing any symptoms.

If you’ve got any questions, please reach out to the Representation Team. If you have a faculty-specific query, please contact your Faculty reps and include the Rep Team in your email.
