2025/26 officer team in beit quad

The new year is officially underway here at Imperial, and with that comes your new batch of key student leaders who you elected back in March!

New for this year, our Officer Trustee roles have had a little shuffle around following a review of our democratic systems and structure.

With that, we say goodbye for now to the Deputy President (Finance and Services) role, and the Deputy President (Clubs and Societies) position has been renamed to Deputy President (Activities) to reflect a wider array of services they represent to students. If you’d like to learn more about the democracy review and how these changes came about, please read on here.

Get to know below some new and familiar faces who will be leading your union for 2025/26!

Nico Henry (he/him)

Union President 2025/26

After a great roller-coaster year as Deputy President (Welfare), I’m excited to step into the President role and focus on bigger-picture priorities that shape student life across Imperial. I want to host more open forums on key institutional topics, giving students a stronger voice in discussions around sustainability, investments, global impact, and more.

Housing will remain a key focus, with better support for students finding accommodation and feeding into the university’s housing strategy, especially for non-first years. Jobs are another priority. Centralising opportunities and creating more roles for students both on and off campus.

Metric is an exciting project. When not in use for events or societies, I want to maximise its daytime potential as a breakout space, offering new student jobs while keeping a clear shift between day and night use. I’ll also continue pushing for more study areas and greener outdoor spaces.

I’m looking forward to supporting the officer team and tackling whatever comes our way. Watch this space!

Tom Gordon (he/him)

Deputy President (Activities) 2025/26

I’m super excited to be your Deputy President (Activities) this year and to meet you all at Welcome Fair. I've spent the last four years getting stuck into Imperial’s Clubs and Societies — especially through music — and I know first-hand how much time, energy and passion goes into running amazing student-led activities.

This year, I want to make that easier. I hope to improve our support and training and make events accessible to more students by growing the Student Experience Fund. I will also focus on more transparent funding models and helping societies to raise money independently through new fundraising methods and better access to our alumni network.

As the role evolves from “Clubs and Societies” to “Activities,” I’m keen to support all the ways students build community at Imperial – not just through CSPs, but across student-led networks and events as a whole. I’ll be keeping you all up to date with what I’m working on throughout the year, but if you see me around, feel free to stop for a chat!

Emina Hogas (she/her)

Deputy President (Education) 2024/25 - 2025/26

Amongst other projects, I am especially looking forward to taking a deep dive into personal tutoring and exploring how we can improve the experience across the board, as many of you might know that it can vastly differ from one academic to the next!

Thankfully, another year in the role means I can continue working on the much-needed streamlining of the Mitigating Circumstances process and keep a close eye on how this year’s programme changes impact assessment and feedback.

I am also committed to maintaining ICU's transparency and officer approachability, and I am excited to strengthen the Rep network further while exploring new ways to recognise and reward engaged students.

See you around campus!

Anson To (they/ them)

Deputy President (Welfare) 2025/26

Hiya! I’m really excited to be your DPW this year.

Over the past few years, I’ve loved volunteering as your LGBTQ+ Officer and Bioengineering Wellbeing Rep, and I can’t wait to keep working on making things a bit easier for all of us.

My time at uni hasn’t always been smooth. I still remember feeling pretty lost and low in my first two years. But finding my community through ICSM Drama and my Bioeng cohort genuinely turned things around.

This year, I want to make sure we all have the space and support needed to survive and thrive, whether that’s through culturally diverse welfare support, accessible student communities or better common rooms. With the cost of living being a huge issue, I’ll also be focusing on making student life more affordable.

I’ll be around at Officer Drop-ins, so please come say hi, grab some sweets and have a chat with us.
