Wind Band

Category: Arts & Entertainment
Imperial College Wind Band is a welcoming and friendly group of woodwind, brass and percussion players, rehearsing and perofrming a wide range of modern and classical music each term. No audition is required to join and we aim to provide a satisfying challenge to all players over each term through a variety of pieces . Performing in termly concerts, supplemented by external social and musical events and an annual international summer tour, we aim to provide an enjoyable and lively experience whilst maintaining excellent musical standards. Activities in recent years have included rehearsal weekends to Oxford, tours to Prague, Munich and Ljubljana and a performance in the Royal College of Music’s Britten Theatre. We have performed in venues ranging from village halls to the famous beer hall Hofbrauhaus to a rugby stadium in front of over a thousand spectators. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 20:15 in the Great Hall, with a break for tea and cake mid-rehearsal, followed by a weekly trip to the one of the campus bars or a local pub.
