Imperial’s only self-defence society – practical training, clear progress, confident members.

Krav Maga is a modern, reality-focused self-defence system that draws on techniques from a wide range of martial arts, built around skills that work under pressure.

👉 No prior experience is needed – most members start from scratch and see progress after just a few sessions. Training builds practical technique, situational awareness, and the mindset to protect yourself and others.

📖 What We Teach – 2024/25 Curriculum

Our syllabus is modular and progressive, so you’ll gain solid foundations before advancing:

• Unarmed Combat – Strikes, defences, awareness & de-escalation

• Close-Range Scenarios – Escaping chokes, grabs & holds

• Ground Survival – Falling safely & getting up fast

• Knife Defence – Skills for edged-weapon threats

• Blunt Weapon Defence – Defences vs sticks, bats & improvised weapons

• Firearm Threats – Survival principles vs pistols & rifles

Training Format & Extras

• Weekly instructor-led sessions with Master Mohammed, our qualified instructor

• Fridays 19:30–21:30, Activity Space 1, Beit Quad

• October schedule:

  • Wed 1st – Tasters 18:30 & 19:30, Union Gym

  • Wed 8th – First lesson 20:00–21:45, Union Gym

  • Fri 17th – Second lesson 19:30–21:30, Activity Space 1

  • Fri 24th – Third lesson 19:30–21:30, Activity Space 1

  • Fri 31st – Fourth lesson 19:30–21:30, Activity Space 1
