As one of the largest Indian societies in the UK, Imperial College Indian Society aims to provide opportunities for everyone to engage with and explore Indian culture. Some events have been adapted due to COVID-19, but the spirit of Indian Society remains.
There will be plenty of events throughout the year celebrating Indian food, culture and history. We’ll begin with our annual "Meet and Greet", giving Freshers the chance to get to know our society and “Mums and Dads” where new members are paired with older years for guidance and advice on university life.
'Just Bollywood', the premier inter-university fusion dance competition, is now online! We’ve introduced individual and small team categories to ensure that dancers can still take part wherever they are.
However, ICIS is perhaps best known for our annual culture and variety show, East Meets West, currently in its 29th year. As the longest running student show in the UK, EMW showcases the varied music, drama and dance talent here at Imperial, with stunning performances from our own members, as well as other university societies such as MSoc and Afrogala. At the heart of all the fun, EMW and Just Bollywood continue to raise thousands of pounds for charity every year.
