Imperial College Indian Society is one of the largest Indian societies in the UK and our main aim is to promote and help develop an awareness of Indian culture.
We hold various events throughout the year and begin this year with our traditional "Meet and Greet", a 3-course Indian banquet giving Freshers a chance to mingle with each other and get to know others in the society. This is soon followed by "Friction" - our headline Bollywood/R&B club night.
For the first time, ICIS will be hosting the 'Movers & Shakers Conference' at Imperial in November. Showcasing prestigious speakers from a variety of industries, we created this event to contribute to the professional development of our members.
In December, we present 'Just Bollywood' - the largest fusion dance competition in the UK. 10 Universities will battle it out at a prestigious London venue. However, ICIS is, perhaps, best known for our annual culture and variety show, East Meets West, currently in its 22nd year. The longest running student show in the UK, East Meets West showcases the varied talents of Imperial students across a number of societies, regularly including PunjabiSoc, Funkology, DramaSoc, Light Opera and many many more! Previously held at prestigious venues such as Her Majesty's Theatre, Theatre Royal, IndigO2 and most recently, the Richmond Theatre; EMW and Just Bollywood continue to raise thousands of pounds for charity and remain at the heart of our charitable efforts every year.
