Welcome to Imperial Ceilidh Society! Whether you’re a veteran ceilidh-goer coming with kilt and sporran, a total newcomer who just fancies giving it a whirl, or anywhere in between – Ceilidh Society is the place for you. We’re a new society aiming to bring people together for an appreciation of Scottish and Irish traditional music and social dancing, as well as plenty of other social events including themed pub crawls, live music nights and more!

A Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a social gathering with traditional Scottish and Irish folk music and social dancing. Each ceilidh is led by a caller who guides you through the dances, ensuring everyone is up to speed and no one’s feet are squashed in the process of having a great time. No previous experience required (just enthusiasm and possible enjoyment of getting dizzy)!

If any of this sounds up your street, then sign up to our mailing list below and we’ll let you know when the next event will be. Anyone is welcome so get your dancing shoes on (or just regular ones if you don’t have any) and see you soon!

PS. If you have experience playing in a traditional folk music group or would like to try it out, don’t hesitate to add your name, instrument and email to the form below and we’ll get in contact.
