The Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble of about 30 singers conducted by William Glendinning which performs frequently not just within London, but across the UK and internationally. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings, following which we are keen frequenters of the union bar.
We present two concerts a term, and lead the College Carol Service. We sing fortnightly Evensongs on Wednesdays in Holy Trinity Church on Prince Consort Road. We often have additional external projects on top of all this as the choir is hired for weddings, festivals and other events including DoE Award Ceremonies at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.
Taking our music outside of college is very important to us, and we go on a week-long Easter tour, a week-long summer tour, and several weekends away throughout the year. Our summer tours are a highlight of the year, both musically and socially. Recent tours have included: Mallorca (2014) where we performed in the cathedral in Palma, as well as a spectacular concert on a subterranean lake; Riga (2015); Lake Garda (2016), which included a concert and service in Milan’s famous Duomo and Porto (2017), where we performed in Porto Cathedral!
