Welcome to Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)

Imperial AUV Society designs, builds and tests autonomous underwater vehicles. Join us to explore robotics, engineering and the ocean. Follow our build journey on Instagram: @ic_auv.

Imperial AUV Society is Imperial College London’s autonomous underwater vehicle team. We design, build and test underwater robots, bringing together mechanical engineering, electronics, embedded software, control systems and practical experimentation.

We are building a community for students interested in engineering, robotics, autonomy and the ocean. The society offers the opportunity to contribute to a real engineering project, learn from other students and follow a prototype from early design through to water testing.

Alongside the build, we will run workshops, showcase our progress and develop links with industry and the wider engineering community. Our long-term aim is to establish a strong student team capable of developing increasingly capable autonomous underwater vehicles and representing Imperial in the growing field of marine robotics.
