Welcome Week Wrap Up by our DPA

I had such a great time meeting so many of you at the postgrad mixers, Postgrad Party, the packed floor at HERE at Outernet, the classic chaos of Wednesday at Beit, and the incredibly themed Union House Party to close it all out (shoutout to the grandma handing out sweets in the Union Bar 🫶).The energy on campus all week was amazing, and it was brilliant to see new friendships forming everywhere you looked.

Our clubs and societies absolutely smashed it too. Welcome Fair was buzzing both days, with hundreds of groups showing off what they do best from sports and music to robotics, theatre, and everything in between. During Welcome Week alone, more than 5,000 students joined a club or society, which is a fantastic start to the year and shows just how strong our student community is.

Welcome Week is always my highlight of the year, and this one really reminded me why. It's about that sense of energy, curiosity and community that makes Imperial such a special place.

Speaking of getting involved, voting in the Autumn Elections opens on Monday 20 October. You have until Thursday to help shape student life at Imperial by choosing your Academic and Wellbeing Reps, Liberation & Community Networks, Constituent Union officers, and Club and Society committees. Every vote really does make a difference, so take a few minutes to have your say. Check back on Friday 24 October to see who's representing you!
