All students on an Imperial Bursary with an annual household income of less than £70,000 automatically receive their SEF allowance and can make payments through the Union Shop.

The fund is currently available to all students on the Imperial Bursary, however, the future aim is that this fund will be able to support the experience of students from all backgrounds. As the fund is used and an understanding of its impact is gained this model will be reviewed.

As of October 2025, each eligible student will receive the funding outlined in the table.

All qualifying students automatically receive their balance as credit on their union account. To use it, simply make a purchase as usual and select "Student Experience Fund" instead of credit/debit card at checkout!

Recipients will also receive an email confirmation from the registry.

Students can spend their on allocation on products on the Union Shop, whether that's for club & society membership, events from clubs & societies or Halls, or certain union events like Summer Ball. Their allocation should already be on their account and show as a payment option when buying something on the Union Shop.
