About You

What's your story?

These are just some of the things we want to know about you and share with the world!

At ICU, we have a remarkably diverse student community, and we know that everyone has a unique story to tell. By telling us a bit more about yourself, you could make a big impact on someone else's life. You could share funny anecdotes and brighten someone’s day, for instance!

The range of stories you can share is endless – you could tell us about a quirky dish that you tried on a trip overseas, an exhibition that you went to that left a lasting impression, a funny joke, or something super interesting that you’ve learnt this term.

We'll be featuring one every week in our newsletter too - keep an eye out.

Your Stories

Here are some student stories shared with us.

"It was difficult to spend the summer moving from San Francisco to London. After a few weeks, I began to miss my weekly hikes on sea cliffs along the ocean in California. The other week, I was walking in Hyde Park and watching the swans on the pond. It was so windy that the pond had waves that splashed people on the park benches! For a moment, there was a tiny ocean inside London!"

"My journey has been far from ordinary—skipping five school years, moving countries, and battling tuberculosis tested me. These challenges strengthened my resilience and sparked my passion for health equity. After Biomedical Science, I’m now pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at Imperial, determined to tackle health inequalities worldwide."

"A story in 4 words - Hyde Park; Night Walk."

"As an international student with a mixed background, I often face questions about whether I feel more Spanish or Chinese. It’s hard to choose, and not many people can relate. Growing up with many cultures can feel lonely at times, but I want to remind others like me: we’re doing great. We’ll find our place and people, and we deserve to love ourselves for who we are."

"From a humble beginning to a souring growth, Bismark, as affectionately called by colleagues and loved ones, has pursued through the thick and thins, the downs and highs and the meagre and greats of the facets of life in educational and professional endeavours. It is a great privilege and honour to join a world-leading university. I can't wait to study at Imperial College London and be a part!"
