ICAC Accessible Shooting
Disabled people, which make up around a quarter of the UK’s population, are half as likely to be physically active as non-disabled people. This is not for lack of will, but rather lack of accessibility. However, archery in particular can be attractive where other sports may be inaccessible, being largely stationary and slow-paced. As events like the Paralympic Games show, archery can be a sport for everyone, if the right accommodations are in place.
This event is for anyone with a disability to try archery, with any accommodations they might need, in a friendly and supportive environment. This will be run at no cost to the participants. The event will be on Sunday 17th January from 5pm to 8pm in the main hall in Ethos.
