Imperial Festival is back for another year! Get Involved!

Imperial College will once again be hosting their annual Imperial Festival. The Festival showcases Imperial's ground breaking research with a programme of demonstrations, talks, tours and performances across Imperial's South Kensington Campus and is free and open to everyone. Imperial springs to life during this free public event with hands-on science demonstrations, music, comedy, dance and art for all ages. Join the celebration and discover something different at this annual Festival!

Behind the Scenes Volunteering

There were a record number of volunteers help deliver the Festival in 2015 - over 125 staff, students and supporters of the College. The success of the Festival depends on the skills, time and energy of many staff, students and alumni. We are very grateful to all exhibitors, performers and volunteers who help us make it happen.

In 2016 there are over 280 volunteer slots, ranging from two-hour early bird opportunities at the start of the day to four-hour stints across the Festival site. There are behind the scenes roles, such as set up, and front of house roles including activities such as leafleting on the road or tube, greeting visitors, selling merchandise and guiding tour groups to labs.

The success of the Festival depends on the time, skills, energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers, especially as the Festival continues to grow and will incorporate almost the entire South Kensington Campus this year.

Find out more about what it's like to volunteer at the Festival.

All volunteers will be requested to attend a briefing session on Friday 29 April, where you will receive a briefing pack and the exclusive Festival volunteer T-shirt.

Follow updates on social media via the hashtag #impfest for the latest on volunteering opportunities at the 2016 Festival.

Pedalling your research

Are you eager to share your enthusiasm for your subject with thousands of visitors to Imperial Festival? This year, Imperial College Union and the Festival team are inviting early-career PhD student researchers, and any interested Masters and Undergraduate students, to operate the College’s award-winning public engagement tricycle, taking their demonstrations up and down Exhibition Road throughout the Festival weekend (Saturday 7 May-Sunday 8 May).
