‘There has been a disease in you since birth’. Debauchery, lies, secrets and emotional turmoil are just some of the things that haunt Helen Alving on the eve of the opening of an Orphanage built in honour of her late husband, Captain George Alving. As the day unravels, the lives of those associated with Helen will never be the same again and the ‘ghosts’ of their pasts truly walk again.
