The Advice centre is your first port of call if you are experiencing difficulties during your time at university.
We can help all students at Imperial College London, Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Postgraduate Research.
We also help:
-recent graduates who have an issue concerning their studies at ICL e.g. an ongoing complaint
-students who have a confirmed offer from ICL
-students on an interruption of studies
Our Advice is:
Free: you don’t have to pay to get advice
Confidential: we won’t tell anyone that you’ve come to see us and we won’t share with anyone else what you tell us unless in exceptional circumstances (see confidentiality policy)
Impartial: we offer the advice that is best for you, we are not influenced by any other organisation
Independent: we are not part of the Imperial college so our advice is not influenced by them
Non judgemental: as long as you are a student we will offer the best advice we can give you and we will not judge your position or the next step you decide to take.
We will support and guide you but we will not make decisions for you. We will make sure you have all the information you need to be able to do that for yourself.
HOW TO GET IN TOUCH
The service is open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 4:00. On Wednesday it is open 1:00 to 4:00
Email email@example.com: this is the quickest way to contact us. We will aim to get back to you within 2 working days. From time to time this might take longer but we will always specify this on the website and our automated response
Telephone +44 20 7594 8067 (IC: 48067): you can call the reception and ask for an advisor. If an advisor is not available the receptionist will take your name and contact details and pass your message on to the centre. It would also be helpful if you could leave a brief description of the issue you wish to discuss. If you’d rather not discuss just let the receptionist know and this is not a problem.
An adviser will then return your call or send you an email.
Appointments: the best way to request an appointment is to send us an email. An appointment will usually last 30 minutes.
Drop ins: we are NOT running a drop in session at the moment. If you do come and see us without an appointment you will need to go to reception. If an adviser is available you can have a quick chat with them. If they are not, do leave your details with the receptionist and they will pass them on to the adviser. Alternatively you can send us an email.
