SVW17: Learn about Scratch coding then go into local schools and inspire

Monday 20 February 2017 12:00 - 13:00
South Kensington Library

2017's student volunteer week has loads of opportunities for everyone to get involved in mass volunteering! One way you can take part is to join in with the coding workshop, sharing your coding skills to aid younger students from Key Stage 2/3 in becoming proficient in a basic coding language called Scratch.

The MIT Media Lab developed language allows users to easily produce different entertainment activities, such as short animations or flash games, giving them a head start in the more advanced computer programming world. Taking part is a great way to give these kids a chance to learn valuable skills, whilst possibly even learning one or two new things yourself!

Come and join us on Monday 20 February at South Kensington Campus Central Library Computer Suite for our initial briefing and trying out the system and familiarising ourselves with it, getting ready to go to Epic Learning alternative school in early March, and remember, do good, feel good!
