- The Department of Aeronautics is one of eleven departments to have won a Student Academic Choice Award.
- In fact, the first ever SACA winner was from Aeronautics - Dr Rafael Palacios took home the trophy for Best Supervision in May 2013.
- Aeronautics has appeared on the SACA Shortlist four times:
