Outdoor First Aid training (RRP £150) is a course designed specifically to meet the needs of those undertaking fieldwork or outdoor activities in remote areas. An ambulance could be hours away, so we give you the practical skills and confidence you need to care for an injured or ill club member until professional help arrives. This course is designed to go beyond basic first aid and give you as a student volunteers key first aid skills you need when working in remote environments. More importantly it will give you the confidence to use those skills effectively in the field. Typical course contents include but are not limited to:
  • Introduction, mountain rescue, mountain survival
  • Fieldwork planning and safety in the hills and mountains

  • The “chain of survival” - relevance & application of CPR in the hills
