The Faith Awareness course is an introduction to five major world faiths (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism). The sessions will be held on Thursday lunchtimes in the Chaplaincy Multi-Faith Centre. There will be 20 minutes of presentation from a speaker with time for facilitated discussions and group reflection at the end. Each session will introduce what each faith is about plus:
  • The differences of belief within the belief
  • The way people of faith understand human flourishing
  • How people of your faith would like to be treated... do’s and don'ts and why this is important in a work context
  • How countries in which faith is very important to public life view the world
Each week we share a key skill to promote good dialogue with the aim of the course being to develop our religious literacy about world faiths and to feel confident about having good dialogue between different religious traditions. Participants will have an opportunity to share something of their own experience as well as hearing the stories of others. For Continuous Professional Development and CV’s we will provide certificates of attendance for those attending all sessions. There are limited spaces, therefore advanced booking is required.
