Student Administrator applications now open!

We are looking to recruit a team of paid Student Administrators to assist in the smooth operation of the Student Activities programme, carrying out a variety of administrative tasks including answering student queries, data entry and assisting the Student Activities Coordinators in administering the Union’s fleet of minibuses and room bookings system.

Imperial College Union plays a key role in how students learn, develop and grow during their time at College, especially through the skills they learn through involvement in our activities.

Skills and experience

We are looking for enthusiastic students who are excellent communicators, are well organised and reliable and can demonstrate experience in carrying out administrative tasks. To apply you should be willing to develop your own skills. 

Please note: applicants must be a current student at Imperial College London and not graduating before June 2018.

Role description

Student Administrators are expected to:

  • Process documentation relating to Clubs, Societies & Projects and other student groups using the established systems

  • Carry out administrative tasks in connection to events and training which the student activities team are delivering

  • Process requests for Life and Associate Membership cards using the established systems

  • Assist the processing of bookings for the Union’s minibuses and administer the subsequent charges for usage

  • Assist with the organisation of the room bookings service for student groups, ensuring the appropriate procedures are maintained

  • To work with relevant student officers and Union staff to deliver the Union’s strategic aims for student activities

  • To ensure that the Union’s Health and Safety Policy and appropriate Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times

  • To abide by the Union’s Constitution, Policies and procedures and all relevant College policies and regulations at all times

  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities compatible with the level and nature of the post as required by the Student Activities Manager

  • Have a flexible approach to duties and work and, in particular, adopt a team style with departments and activities across the Union

Hourly rate: £8.41 per hour (inc. holiday pay)

The role is flexible and consists of day work during term time and vacations.
