Felicite de Buchet
Hello, my name is Felicite de Buchet, I am a Second Year Biology student running to be the treasurer of BioSoc. As Biology Wellbeing Year Representative this year, I have been directly involved with the bio community and I have had the unique privilege of understanding what biology students really want from the society - socially and academically.
This year, I noticed that while the committee and events team had good intentions, they were held back by a lack of resources. I am not saying that I will be able to create more money out of thin air (although I do intend to push on the sponsorship front) but I will do my utmost to ensure that the funds that we have are appropriately and strategically allocated as part of a well-thought out, fair budget.
In terms of my experience, I have always been good with money (even for a student!) and professionally, I have taken courses as part of the Trading Education Certificate with Finance Society and am a Research Analyst with Investment Society. As well as this, I have had both past and upcoming internships in the finance industry.
Hopefully you can see that I’m really passionate about this position and committed to doing a great job for you guys. I just want to make BioSoc something that people can engage in, and a big part of that is deciding where the money goes and overseeing the society’s finances to make sure it‘s in line with what people want!
