While success on the water is what we're all here for, capitalising on our results back on land (or simply 'flexing our success to other clubs') is an equally important role.
The club's representation on the national and international stage is key for a number of reasons: raising the global profile of ICBC, recruiting new talent and attracting lucrative sponsorship deals. I believe that the use of social media and the club's website to achieve these goals is an effective way to reinforce our success in competitions.
Personally, I'm on social media all the time. I love getting a good photo for Instagram, and would take great pride in showing off what we have to offer at ICBC on the club's various social media and internet outlets. While I might not have a certain 'home of junior rowing photography' behind me, you would be able to rely on someone who understands the value of the club's image to frequently manage these sites, whether it be updating the 'news' section on the ICBC website (which seems to be stuck in March 2018), or posting regular photos of our athletes in front of impressive early morning Putney skies. I have the commitment and time to pay the required attention to these features of our club, and would strive to take our brand forwards.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope to represent you as Communications Officer soon!
