I'm a 4th year student. I was Deputy President (Welfare) 2017-18, advocating on behalf of all 17,000 students at the College. In my final year, using this considerable experience, I want to represent you to make sure that your student experience is the best it can possibly be.
As Deputy President (Welfare), I implemented the Wellbeing Representation Network across Imperial for the very first time. I negotiated directly with academics and management across departments and faculties to secure support for initiatives to improve your student experience. I will continue this work locally as your Dep Rep, making sure that your department is supportive, understanding, and on your side.
Having been part of many College committees on student support, I have an excellent understanding of the full range of resources here for you at the College. From the Disability Advisory Service, to Counselling, to Student Financial Support, I am the best placed candidate to tell you where to go for help. I will work with reps and the department to make sure that signposting is fast and effective.
SHARING BEST PRACTICE
I will bring the best initiatives and ideas from across the faculty to support you and improve the student experience. Examples include Material's exam season time management support, or Mech Eng's breakout sessions, to let you relax and/or ask about your concerns. I will also work with our new Wellbeing Adviser, Faith, to make sure the department's work is based on your feedback, and focused on your needs.
