Hello! I’m Michael, a second year gradmed student running for treasurer.
I am running for this position because I feel that my personal attributes, which include strong organisational, management and communication skills, will be able to shine through this role and help keep the society running smoothly.
During my time at St George’s University of London, I assisted the rugby team’s treasurer in sorting out finances for a number of social events. This gave me a valuable insight into the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the club stays financially stable, while accommodating the demands of the players.
Multitasking is a skill that I feel I have proven to be a strong point of mine - I have balanced having more than one job alongside studying and doing sports since I was 17. Now that I am 23, I feel that I am more than capable of being the treasurer alongside my studies/work/hobbies without any of those pursuits suffering.
Despite there being no new intake of grad meds this year, I am keen to get involved with the gradmed society and I feel that being the treasurer would be the best way for me to do so.
