Wanna Go Wednesday

So, you've promoted your Club, Society or Project at the Welcome Fair, now show your potential members what you're all about!

After the success of last year, the Union is again hosting Wanna Go Wednesday - a day of taster activities for new and returning students to get involved in. Think cookery classes, mocktail making, drone racing, and beginner society & sports sessions; there's something for everyone to try out! We'll be taking over the whole of the Union building, Beit Quad and a few other spaces on campus to deliver the biggest hive of activity Imperial has ever seen!

Wanna Go Wednesday will be held on Wednesday 02 October in and around the Union Building.

Why run a free taster session?

Wanna Go Wednesday is a prime opportunity for Clubs, Societies & Projects to showcase their activities and to get creative in engaging new and existing members. Benefits include:

  • Promotion of your activity via the Union's Welcome Hub
  • Promotion of your activity on flyers distributed during Welcome Fair
  • An opportunity to recruit new students by showing them what you're about at the earliest opportunity in the year
  • PRIORITY space within/around the Union (Beit Quad) to run your activity between 12:00-18:00
  • FREE t-shirt for club volunteers (max 2 per club)

How do I get involved?

The webform closes at 9 AM on Monday 09 September

Step 1: Complete the webform below.

This will be sent to the Student Activities team who will find you a suitable space. Once the schedule for the day has been finalised, you will be contacted with your time slot(s) and more information about logistics on the day. We will also use this information to promote your event via our Welcome Hub.

Step 2: Recieve a volunteer briefing

We expect each CSP to provide 1+ volunteer(s) to faciliate your activity. This might include meeting students at the meeting point in Beit Quad, and walking them to your activity. Ideally you'll want someone overseeing the activity, making sure it runs smoothly, and participants are having fun!

We will be providing a short briefing to Wanna Go Wednesday volunteers before Welcome Week. You will also be given a volunteer t-shirt to identify you on the day, as well as some useful information and resources. Information on this will be circulated once you have signed up.

Step 3: Show up!

Make sure you're there to meet and greet new students, introduce your activity, and then get going!
