Psychedelic Studies

Category: Academic Related
Our aim is to promote the rigorous academic study of psychedelic drugs such as LSD, psilocybin and DMT, and to make a stand for a rational, objective discourse about drugs and how they affect the brain, our psychology, our mental health and our philosophical premises. We are fundamentally anchored to research and steered by concerns over safety and well-being. We hope to inform students and members of the public of the groundbreaking and critically important scientific studies being conducted with psychedelics and provide a channel for debate, discussion and critique. Importantly, we think that psychedelics are not a panacea for life’s or society's ills, and we hope to promote a balanced understanding of their potential value as well as their limitations and dangers. There is much more to psychedelics than their psychiatric application, and we do not want to limit our examination to a purely medical perspective, as there is much that philosophy, history, anthropology, psychology, neuroscience, law and the arts and humanities have to say about them. We are NOT a committee that expresses the endorsement of ANY form of drug use - but rather an intellectual forum that opens the possibility of rational discourse on a complicated topic.
