Important Summer Ball Information

The Summer Ball is taking place tomorrow! For those attending, have a quick read of the information below for the lowdown on how to get in on the night, drinks prices and timings. If you aren't attending then there is still time to buy your Entertainments ticket online.

Getting in

This year we have made it easier than ever to get into the Ball. For those of you that purchased your ticket online by using your College username and password to login, you will already have the ticket stored electronically on your College ID card. If you purchased tickets for your friends, their tickets will also be on your College ID card.

On the night, come to the Tanaka Building entrance to the College on Exhibition Road with your College ID card. We will swipe it and then give you your wristband. You will then be in the event!

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR COLLEGE ID CARD WITH YOU.

IF YOU PURCHASED TICKETS FOR YOUR FRIENDS THEN THEY WILL NEED TO ARRIVE AT THE SAME TIME AS YOU. WE CAN ONLY ALLOW ENTRY FOR YOU TOGETHER AS A GROUP IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED TICKETS FOR OTHERS.

Dinner Ticket holders can arrive from 17:00. The Champagne Reception begins at 17:15.

Entertainments Ticket holders can arrive from 18:45. Music starts on the Metric Stage at 19:00.

Cashless Bars

In order to speed up serving times at our bars, we will be using a cashless bar system.

BARS WILL ONLY ACCEPT CASHLESS TOKENS WHICH CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED AT THE BALL.

Get enough cash for the evening
On arrival, go to the token station situated next to the Queen’s Lawn
Purchase as many tokens as you think you will need for the evening. We will be selling them in multiples of 5; 1 token = £1
Exchange your tokens for drinks at the bars without the worry of carrying around change all night

Tokens can be purchased using cash or cards. Tokens are valid at all bars in the Summer Ball including da Vinci’s, dB’s and the Union Bar. Tokens are valid from 17:00 20 June 2009 until 10:00 21 June 2009. Tokens are non-refundable.

Drinks prices in the Union Bars will be rounded up or down to the nearest pound. Drinks prices correct at time of print and are subject to change. See price lists displayed at each bar on the evening for latest price information.

Food

If you are not dining with us on the evening then we recommend you eat before coming to the Ball. However, there will be plenty of food outlets selling food on the night. There are food vans situated next to the Fun Fair which will only be accepting cash. In the Union Quad there will be a BBQ and breakfast in the morning which will only be accepting cashless vouchers.

Photography

There will be a professional photographer situated in the Senior Common Room as well as Toni & Guy stylists ready to help make those finishing touches to your hair!

We also really want you to share all the photos and videos you take on the evening. All you have to do is upload them to Flickr or YouTube tagging them with the code 'IMP 150' and they could appear on the College or Union website!
