Many thought we couldn't better last year's Centenary Ball, but with more acts, attendees and diners, this year's ball holds our position as London's largest student ball!

A massive thank-you to all who attended this year's Summer Ball on Saturday; you all played an important role in making this our most successful Summer Ball to date! 600 diners were joined by a further 1800 revelers across the South Kensington campus to enjoy fireworks, five venues of music and our superb funfair.

The champagne reception welcomed diners to the event before they sat down to an excellent four-course dinner. Sir Richard Sykes gave the speech for the evening, one of his last duties before the end of his time as Rector, and was also handed an Honorary Life Membership to Imperial College Union.

Whilst the diners were finishing off their meal, the non-diners arrived quickly filling all venues around campus. Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe, Naboo (Mighty Boosh) and more entertained in the Great Hall and Main Dining Hall. Whilst bands from Adventures in the Beetroot Field, Andy C and the Scratch Perverts got the crowd going over the road in Beit Quad.

The fireworks display at 22:40 were set off from the top of the Sherfield Building offering amazing views, as they exploded with the Queen's Tower as a backdrop, especially to those on the funfair as the show began.

However, the true stars of the night were the 1,100 who made it over to the Union for our biggest ever Survivors' Photo and afterparty.

A massive thanks must go to all who helped organise this event and again to all of our attendees. We hope to see you all again next year!
