Tennis
Lawn Tennis Club is one of the biggest and most active at Imperial with more than 3 sessions/events each week and over 130 members.
The team is one of the best in the region finishing third in the 1st division in 2010 and with one player reaching the semi-finals individuals. We have 2 men's and 1 women's team competing in 1st and 2nd divisions. In summer 2010 we held a tour to Spain, playing at the one of the best clubs in Spain on tournament standard clay courts against top Spanish opposition.
This year we hope to go back and hold a reverse fixture on the grass at Queen's Club. We have an expanding social side - whether you are a beginner or advanced player we hold exclusive nights at top clubs and end-of-term dinners. For the more casual player we offer rackets, balls and coaching free of charge at one of our two sessions a week at the brand new courts of South Park.
What's more as a club we have access to tickets to see legends play at the Royal Albert Hall and the best 8 players in the world battle it out at the O2 arena. We also sometimes get tickets for Wimbledon and the AEGON Championships at Queen's.
Our courts include Hyde Park, South Park and weekly training at Queen's Club. We also have a uni-wide league and tournament to suit all standards who want competitive tennis.
