Our rhythmic beats come from everyday objects: water butts, brooms, trash cans, coffee cups etc. ICPC runs weekly sessions with 1 hour focused on de-stressing, and fun and inventive percussion techniques. An optional further half-hour is dedicated to those interested in working on sophisticated routines, geared towards performance.
Exercises and games help everyone to de-stress via the controlled release of physical energy (i.e. hitting stuff). Trash percussion is accessible to everyone, with or without experience. You'll learn how to combine rhythm, movement and communication, developing coordination and confidence.
It's an enjoyable physical and mental workout, everyone can try it out. In the past we've taken part in Exhibition Road Music Day, college concerts and ArtsFest, busking on Queen's lawn and collaborating with the Science Museum on a teaching workshop.
