So you have sat in choir thinking "Wouldn't it be nice to get more involved with the society?" or in orchestra thinking "I could run this much better." then now is your chance to do something about it! The society is run by other members and as a large society we have a large committee, providing plenty of opportunity for anyone who wants to, to get involved. It is not only fun, but also gives you the opportunity to shape MusicSoc for the future.
We have the following positions on the committee. Click on each one to read a bit more about it. A number of positions have changed this year and the role associated with positions have changed slightly as well; I have detailed the changes at the bottom of this page. Next to each position of the name of the person who has done that role on the committee this year. Do come and chat to Rupert in confidence if you are thinking of standing and I can tell you a bit more about a position.

If want to stand for a position then you need to tell Rupert by Friday 23rd April. You need to let me know which position you are standing for, plus the name of one proposer and two seconders who need to be other members of the society. You will then need to submit your written manifesto to me by Sunday 25th April. The AGM is on Thursday 6th May and all the details of this very exciting evening will be released shortly!
We also have auditioned conductors for the different ensembles. If you might be interested in trying your hand waving the baton also do get in touch. Conductor auditions (all current conductors have to reaudition every year) will be held soon although a date is still to be fixed. You need to let Rupert know of your interest by Friday 30th April. The conducting opportunities are for...

For a full list of members of last years committee 2009-2010 click here. This year we have created a number of new positions and removed the 'non-executive' roles. This is to encourage a more balenced committee between ensembles and spread the roles of some of the larger jobs.
