The Deputy President (Clubs and Societies), or DPCS, is responsible for looking after all of the Unions 300 Clubs, Societies & Projects, ensuring that they have everything that they need, whether rooms, minibuses or money. The DPCS also chairs the Clubs and Societies Board, which sets policy relating to clubs and student activities.
The DPCS is also responsible for Health and Saftey within the Union, an often underestimated task as well as Representing the union's interests to the College and external bodies like BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport)
As with the other Sabbaticals, the DPCS is a member of the Executive Committee and the Council, which means that club and society related matters are not the limit of the DPCS's responsibilities. Working on anything from lobbying the College for extra storage space for the Shop to leading reviews of the representation arms of the Union, the DPCS has an interestingly varied workload.
