Sunday 18th March
SAF Building, Imperial College London
Imperial College School of Medicine (ICSM) Surgical Society is proud to announce the 3rd Technology in Medicine & Surgery Conference (TiMS), a national and pan-disciplinary event. The TiMS ethos is to inspire the next generation of medical innovators and to expose them to the frontiers of medical technology and invention.
Imperial College London itself has more than 2000 pairs of eyes in the form of medical students able to spot problems or improvements needed in hospitals, patient care and research environments. However, they might not have the engineering, computing, design, technological, business skills that are necessary to create a solution to that clinical problem. TiMS aims to foster a culture of always seeking to improve on the status quo by interdisciplinary collaborations, where students and professionals from various disciplines bring their skills and expertise to the table to solve a common problem.
We hope to inspire students through a series of lectures and an innovation competition in which delegates will pitch their ideas to our expert panel of judges. This year we are also opening our event to sixth form school pupils, who can enter their innovation ideas into a new poster competition.
By instilling a sense of wonder, we hope to motivate students into realising their vision for the future of medicine and surgery. We hope you have an enjoyable day at the conference and an enjoyable weekend in London.
With kind regards,
TiMS team – The Next Generation of Medical Innovators
