Wind Band

Imperial College Winds is a full scale windband incorporating woodwind, brass and percussion. We are a non-audition group who meet on a weekly basis to rehearse in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Including concertos, symphonies, folk songs and film scores, our repertoire is extremely varied and will offer a challenge to every musician irrespective of previous experience.

As well as holding a concert in college at the end of each term, we have also performed external concerts and for the past two years have played a part in World Music Day. We especially enjoy being a part of Artsfest, busking during the week and performing in the finale concert.Musicians of all abilities are welcome to join the band and current members range from beginners and returning players to seasoned orchestral musicians.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm and afterwards we go for a few drinks in a local bar, letting off steam and having a natter. Regular socials are organised throughout the year with a main social outing at the end of each term.

So if you want to play a variety of music without pressure, have fun and make new friends, come and join in!
